Does a summary of all the various Monarch lathe models/series exist?

I am trying to understand the difference between the AA - BB- C - CK - CU - CY - K - CK - CKK- M - N - NN - W - 50 - 60 - 61 - 71 and any other series I don't know about. There is plenty of info out there on the 10EE variations, but not much on the larger lathe models.

I would like to find a summary of each series (the years produced, swing available, options, spindle speeds, notable features)

Can someone at least tell me the difference between a CY and a CU?

Do these lathes have rolling element or plain bearings on the spindle?

CY, CU and CW all have precision class Timken taper roller bearings

Don't know about CU, but CW has no lead screw reverse on apron and CY does

All are similar 16 speed helical gear heads, no sliding gears, just massive dog clutches to select gear to be used

Photos from my CW

Scan just refers to "W", as if the preceding "C" was a given

This is a model 60 with a 61 thread dial. Machine came with a 61 manual but the area where the leadscrew enters the gearbox didn't match the parts diagram. Monarch told me there was a transition period and sent me pages from an earlier manual for that part of the machine. The 13" machine didn't change that area but the 16 and 20" did. Mine is engine lathe so slower 700 rpm. I think the 1000 rpm were generally the toolroom lathes but was optional on the engine lathe.DSCN3450.jpgDSCN3451.jpgDSCN3452.jpg Dave
