I have searched the archives of PM, and found that there is no reference to 1SOL or some of the other text that exists in my monarch 10ee documentation. So I am going to make a few posts to put them here in digital form for posterior. I mean posterity.
So here is the first. This is part of the graffiti in the relay panel door of my modular 1962 10ee. I tried to put spaces between the abbreviation and the description like Monarch did, but they didn't have this awful text editor to deal with. This is the language of my lathe and the dictionary should be available to all for today and tomorrow.
FL Field Loss relay drops open power contactor if there is low or zero motor field current.
AP Anti-Plugging relay, prevents motor from being reversed at high speeds.
QSD Quick Slow down relay, places resistance across motor armature to brake motor.
ITR Tube warm up timer.
2TR Field current timer reduces field current during stand-by.
FA Field accelerating relay places full voltage on field when armature current reaches 25 amps.
2MF Spindle motor forward contactor.
2MR Spindle motor reverse contactor.
PC Power contactor relays power to all circuits except filament transformers.
3M Coolant pump starter.
R Red Pilot light.
G Green pilot light & pushbutton.
1SOL Electronic unit door inter-lock solenoid.
2SOL Gear box shifting lower lock-out solenoid.
THS Temperature switch drops open power contactor if blower fails.
SLS Spindle lock switch, motor cannot be started if spindle locked.
DISC Main disconnect switch.
FU Control circuit fuse 5 amps.
