Potentiometer has failed
My pal has a 1942 10EE that came off a US Naval Ship..
The man who ran that machine while in the Navy acquired it when the ship was scraped .
He used it until his death.
The machine sat in the DC vehicle repair department for over 25 years..
I got it for scrap price and barter it with my pal for other machine tools.
My pal informed me that after 15 years of him using this round dial EE ,the potentiometer failed..
Monarch wants too much for a new part.
Anyone here on the form has a source for a usable one?

Hi Robbie,
Welcome aboard! It's neat that you have that much history on the machine. Do you know what ship it was aboard?
There's a member in the Florida panhandle has one. I don't think he's very active, but I can put you in touch if you send me an e-mail.
But first, why don't we verify that yours is bad. It might be a fairly simple problem, like a worn out brush. Do you know how to use an Ohmmeter?

Thanks for the reply..
The man that now has the EE is a electronics Engineer for 40 years repairing paper cutters , motor controls and computers.
He is a very competent person when it comes to anything electrical.
His only fault is that he is color blind..
That makes things exciting when we work together when he asks "Is this brown or green"?

OK, if you're sure that the pot is bad, send me an e-mail and I'll put you in touch with Gill.
