Peter, any relation?

"The University of California, Berkeley, community mourns the loss of Peter E. Haas, Sr. of the Class of 1940, one of the most cherished members of the Cal family, who passed away in San Francisco on Saturday, December 3, at the age of 86."

None, except we share names, and ... humorously ... accounts at Fry's Electronics (until Fry's had the good sense to add a customer's middle initial to its data base); also parent's undergraduate schools.

His M.I. is E, mine is H.

My mother and father are UC-Berzerkeley alums, and were most likely classmates of Peter E, although my parents were graduated in 1938, thereafter going on to U. of Chicago (father) and Wash. U. in St. Louis (mother), with my father returning to California, to Stanford, for his PhD.

UC-Berzerkeley's Graduate School of Business was renamed in honor of Walter E. Haas, Peter E's father.

"Didn't Levi Strauss have a big plant in Watsonville?"

Not sure.

I thought Levi's moved off-shore sometime after the Haas family took the company private, but I could be wrong.
