Special Lightweight 10EE Just Purchased!

Couldn't resist; found it on local classifieds yesterday. Lots cheaper than the ridiculous prices they go for on eBay.

Just be careful with all that power. Heard that the Chucks (Charles) that sometimes come with the Manson clan are pretty spooky.

Still a cool lathe . . .

I'll measure it when I get home. I think it's 10" lengthwise.

Even though I've seen these online, I never expected it to be so small in real life. Much cooler in person than pictures make it seem. It really is tiny!
It is currently sitting on my curio in the living room!

Okay, the good news is that it is "doable"... :D :rolleyes5:

Further, the largest gear ( that being the 151T Idler ) will only need to be .7969" Diameter.

I have successfully Hobbed 200DP and these work out to only 192DP, so it's not completely insane. :rolleyes5:  :nutter:

Even the smallest gear ( 48T ) comes in at .2604" O.D.

You are on your own for the wooden box, though... Maybe a call to member Rivett...? :D

I need to get that chuck off and see if it has the plain or ball bearing spindle. Lathes.uk has some good info on these Masterson lathes, which were after the ManSon (buyout, I think).

So...how much are the change gears? :scratchchin::crazy:

Daughter turning the end of a random pencil! (Like, existing wood pencil from the pen drawer).

Safety glasses were immediately applied after I took this pic. :o
