hello all
a classic lathe with a gearbox will deliver a require ratio between spindle_revo and saddle_feed long before the spindle reached desired rpm : it happens once clutch stops sliding
a cnc will syncronize S & Z after a start-up distance, so to allow the motors to accelerate and get in syncro
Okuma provides data so to calculate this lag ; please check page 134 in here : http://kbm.polsl.pl/~public-org/[MiBM]Programowanie-obrabiarek-NC.s8/LE33-019-R01a-OSP-P300SP300L-PROGRAMMING%20MANUAL.pdf
*that document is old; please consider newer editions ...
this behaviour affects all turning operations, and it is important when threading, because it produces incomplete threads : start and especially the end of the thread is out of sync
this effect increases with high specs and low clearances
over time, the value of the machine model dependent constant has decreased
all the best !
