MacTurn 50 tool change

We just purchased a MacTurn 50 from an auction and I am having trouble figuring out how to work the ATC. If I go in the parameters and activate the manual mode, I can run through the entire tool change process but when I try to do a tool change in a program it stops at the M06 and eventually throws a time out alarm. I tried running programs that were in the machine from the previous owners of the machine and I also tried writing sample programs using examples from the book but with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 macturn30
As far as i know they don't use and m06 whatsoever, it uses m321.
my syntax is:
MT=0503
M321
which means tool five loaded in the milling position(03)

HTH

also the machine need to be pre-positioned to the tool change position. If not it can result in a time out.
for me in MDI mode I use
G21HP=1
enter
cycle start

If anything like my experience you have a long road to learn it's many quirks.
