Hi All,

Thanks again for a great forum.

I am reading up on my newly purchased LB15 ii.

I am new to CNC so please forgive me if this is a silly question.

I 'thought' tool nose radius compensation allowed you to write your program based on the true part geometry and the computer did all the maths to make a tool with given nose radius cut the right path.

As I start to read the programming manual (start) it seems as though I may have to manually alter tool paths (program) to achieve the right geometry in radius and taper turning.

Can you please advise?

I am hoping I am wrong and the manual is just explaining how to do it without automatic tool nose radius compensation.

Thanks for all your help.

Regards, Iain.

With tool nose comp, you put in the exact point to point that you want your part to be... ie the same dimensions as the print in your hand. Then in your Tool Geometry page you enter in the value of your insert radius so it knows what to comp.
