Alternative of VDI 2860 "Assembly and handling; handling functions, handling units;

Hi guys,

I am working for an automation shop and there are used many terms for similar operations by different departments. So I was kind of trying to organize the terms and definitions and I found the VDI 2860 which explains the handling of parts during a process. Sadly this standard was withdrawn this summer.
I called the VDI to ask if there is an alternative, and they told me you know the standard ist too old and i is not up to time. Maybe there are some definitions in all the other 100 standards we have in the production area...

So I thought I would ask here, maybe you can tell me a good alternative to VDI 2860 how to define your operations during handling. For the fabrication part I already have DIN 8580 but where is there a standard for handling?

Most VDI / DIN / SAE / standards have been combined / refined into ISO standards. I would check with ISO

s1 has a more specific answer? Things like yes there is the ISO xxx, would be very pleased ;-)
