    Default Interesting linear actuator

    I found this unique actuator recently and thought I'd pass it along.

    Kinda hard to describe, It's a spiral interlocking tube that has a very high ratio of collapsed to extended height.

    These look like the same kind of actuators that are often used in stage designs for theaters that have floors that change elevation. I did some work at the KA Theater and they had more than 20 of these actuators that raised and lowered sections of floor around the main stage - they are very stiff and sturdy.
