I purchased a Fanuc Arcmate 100i several years ago for a job I run and decided it would be nice to have a complete welding cell. I ran across a used Osa-Lator 2-position 6' diameter rotary table and purchased it. I talked with Highpoint and was told that I could purchase a complete plug-and-play control system (I bought it knowing no controls were included) and a ball park price for said control system. I told them that price sounded reasonable and was informed that they would send over a formal quote after talking with their electronics guy. Several weeks pass, nothing. I call back, still working on it, several more weeks, nothing. E-mails sent, nothing. It's been about six months now and I'm still no closer to getting a turn key control system than the first time I called.

Since I'm not getting a response, it looks like I'm now leaning towards doing the controls myself (which I really don't have time to do and would have preferred to simply purchase a complete system, but that is the cards I have been dealt).

Highpoint claims a position repeatability of +/- 0.002" at 30" from the center of rotation (I know there is a high level of mechanical function/alignment to that claim) but that is a pretty tight target to hit. In my conversations with the good people of the Lincoln Electric Regional Automation Center, I need to repeat to less than half the wire diameter or in my case, 0.015" to 0.020" depending on the job. I'm sure there will be slight variations in tooling and alignment, so as close to the +/- 0.002" would be ideal.

So here are my questions, has anybody here done a controls retrofit to one of these tables themselves and if so, are you willing to share the knowledge gained? If not, can someone point me in the direction of someone who can help? I do have the name and number of a local controls guy who I'm told has experience in all areas of controls, but I'd rather find someone who has specific experience with these units first and if that fails I'll try the local guy.

Does anybody have one of these tables that would be willing to help me compile a list of components I'm missing as I would like to keep the control system as close to OEM as possible?
