(Moderators: this seems to be "the place" to post a question about Emco lathes. If that's wrong, then please move this to the appropriate forum.)

I want to buy a bigger faceplate for my Logan lathe, which has a 1-1/2" x 8TPI spindle thread. I have been offered a faceplate from a Emco Maximat lathe with this thread, but its thousands of km away so I can't examine it myself. My question: do the Emco lathes use a US/Unified/Metric 60 degree thread angle like on my Logan lathe, or a British Whitworth 55 degree thread angle like on some Boxford lathes?

Cheers,
Brue

Hi! I have an Emco headstock with a 1-1/2"-8 threaded nose. AFAIK, it accepts 'standard' 1-1/2"-8 tooling from South Bend, etc. I have a Royal 5C nose collet closer and it mounts right up on the Emco headstock. I also have another Emco headstock with a smaller, finer pitch Metric threaded nose. What you have over there, I dunno..
Good luck! JinNJ
