Hey guys, I'm not sure that ink posting in the appropriate area. If not please let me know.

I've Been after a small precision lathe for screw cutting and general turning of parts for my hand made folding knives.

I came across this little lorch B-VI-PO-K and decided to purchase it. This little guy has the traversing mandrel for screw cutting, as well as a bunch of master hobs. Almost full set of collets, drill chuck, live centres etc. It also has a 110v single phase motor as well as the original 220v the phase. I'll probably hook her up to a vfd.

I'm really just looking for Any information I can gather about the machine. I have a 9" south bend but this is a much different beast.. In a good way.. Just out of my league..

Thanks guys

Looks like mine is the BvIPO. Model.. You have to scroll up to see but it shows a bed length of 35" bigger then I thought [emoji108] I'm having a hard time finding info on it tough.

Holy crap, I picked her up today and this thing is heavy. 1400lbs. And in pheromonal condition. I do however need to have a part made in order to use the thread chasing attachment. Maybe you fellas can help me with this. I have schematics and a drawing of the part. The guy I bought it from had the most high end shop I've ever seen. Her had rows of schaublin lathes 102's, 70's, some very rare ones. Cataract lathes, my ford,hardinge... It was overwhelming. Anyway..A couple pics. It was awful moving this machine in -50 temperatures. More photos to come in the next day outer two. I'd appreciate any input you guys might have

You know you can turn this "signature" off.
Go to settings in your iphone and change or remove it there.
Unless you like this to show up in every post.

It hasn't concerned me..I suppose I'm not up on my forum etiquette. Am I suppose to remove it?

OK so what do we have here? Is this the main power, or possible reverse? It looks to be wired into the lower handle which does nothing in its current state. I don't want to flip it until I know.

Interestingly enough, I also have a lathe like this- I'm told it came from a camera factory in Midland On. What are your plans with the lathe?

Henry, mine also came from that same lyrica camera factory in midland. They originally had 4 of these. I presumed the others were scrapped, so it's very exciting to hear that you've also got one. I'd love to chat with you. I have engravings on mine which indicate where this lathe was used in the production process.

I plan to use mine for two main purposes, I am a custom knife maker and will use this to turn all if my steel and titanium pins, and also to make my own pivot screws once I get the chasing attachment working. We're you lucky enough to get a working thread chaser with yours? Can you share photos?

It sure looks good in your shop! Mine still bears origional paint, and came with a different stand than yours. Sadly, I'm missing the threading guides and chasers.image.jpgimage.jpg
