Hardinge did have a manufacturing division in England for a few years, so yes some were made there but the vast majority of them were made in the USA. Designed in USA too.
I once owned a UK made HLV-H and I recall it had some minor differences but can't recall what the differences were now. This was back about 1986 and I remember I needed a part that was unique to the UK version and back then the Hardinge UK was sort of still in business, for parts anyway.... but I had so much trouble getting them to respond I just gave up eventually.
Bridgeport had a UK division as well... at least for the CNC Bridgeports anyway. The UK CNC Bridgeports were built more "stout" than the USA ones.
