I have a Schaublin 70 lathe. Dates from the 1950s or 1960s.

Uses F type collets.

Can anyone tell me the size of the F collets? Are they F 12 or F 16 or something else?

Many thanks in advance.

John

My Schaublin 70 turret lathe has original adaptors for both F12 and F16.

Next step is to make an adaptor to fit my W12 collets also.

My 70 takes F16 collets that fit in this adaptor. I have ordered a 20mm shank ER20 collet chuck to use instead of the F16 collets

quasi,
It fits in the spindle like the adaptor. I turned the 1.000 body dia. to fit the inside of the spindle, the 20mm dia. fit the inside already. This comes with 10mm internal threads for using a draw bolt. I shaved the shoulder of the body to be square with the body dia. I take light cuts using this chuck. You sure don't want this to turn in the spindle!
