Looks like I have bad coil in my brake. I checked with it disconnected with two different meters and get an open circuit, there is a bit of rust on the metal disk so it likely hasn't engaged in some time. guessing I get to buy a new one now :(

The number I see on the housing says, (I think it is hard to read) 53 1-111-006

Can I confirm I am looking for a 90V unit?

Is there anything else I should know.

thanks

Luke

Have you bought parts from Schaublin for your mill?

Their customer service is pretty good. Parts shipped same day. They even beat the price price Norgen quoted me for some pneumatic components.

Check with them. Maybe you need, or would like, other original equipment replacements. It doesn't hurt to see what they have.

I hope its not too expensive to get back together.

I will check with Schaublin tomorrow and see what they say, be nice if I had the machine number but hopefully they can figure out what I need.

They certainly have order in their books. I suspect they may ask you to go through their scandinavian agent Ehn & Land in Sweden, as they did with me. The brake is 24 volts, it should have a resistance around 20-30 ohms.
