Sexual harassment in the workplace

Recently I had a 70th b'day party at which I was presented with this T-shirt by a cabal of women employees:

Machinist meme Tshirt.jpg

There were a number of guests (suppliers, sales reps, and their wives) with no idea what G-code is, so one of the girls translated (loudly), "Im'a tap it 'til she squirts!" We had hired a bartender and cocktails began at five, so by that time (9:30) everybody was pretty drunk and they all giggled hysterically. I have to say our ladies have quite a sense of humor considering they're machinists. Industrial humor has always been rather special.

Obviously we don't have sexual harassment issues. My immediate supervisor (pictured) refers to this sort of thing as sexual hisassment.

Unfortunately lots of people without a sense of humor will call that sexual harassment.
Glad to hear humor is still alive and can be enjoyed some places.

As for women...used to work in a restaurant. Once in-awhile we did bachelor and bachelorette parties. Waiters took charge of ladies parties, waitresses did the running and serving, vise versa for guys parties...best way to increase tips.

Anyway, bachelor parties...guys for the most part, whether a few drinks or plastered...they always remained respectful to the waitresses...for the most part/sort of depending mostly on how flirtly the waitresses were back to them.
Women...holy cow, a couple drinks and their hands were everywhere. What came out of their mouths...wow. Donald Trump got some flack on his Locker Room talk on that bus, let me tell you a crowd of drinking women goes way beyond any locker room talk I have ever heard from guys. AND I am not talking about the girls...but the ladies and older ladies.

In the workplace...had my share of having a couple ladies work on the floor. For the most part never an issue...till one started and complained to me about some off colored comments she thought she heard. Had to do a write up...kept guy away from her workstation and when given the opportunity eased her out of the shop.

Happy Birthday, love the shirt!

Guys parties

Won't get very far with the G84 without that M8 before it.

It's nice that you have a relaxed workplace.

A friend of mine told me about a tool crib woman at Boeing who had a sign posted at the window stating sexual harassment was a workplace benefit. He said sometimes they would do "lunch" off-site.

Nice shirt.

It's all a matter of viewpoint. A woman who was head of a collage art department was wildly, openly gay, making passes at her girl students. A man in her department hung a Makita poster in his cubicle, a girl in a bikini holding a grinder. There was a note attached that said "Please remove this, It is not the image of women we are trying to promote."

Would that we could see ourselves as others see us.

My daughter worked for Imperial Oil in Northern Canada in the 1990's. Policy was no pictures of people anywhere... on desks, lockers etc. You could have a picture of your dog but not people. It is sad but with all the lawsuits we have to make blanket rules.

...Then a pallet change.

LMFAO. Or drag it outside and drench it with Windex (that used to work in college when dates were drunk or inconsiderate). You mentioned brain bleach in another thread; let's let this one run for awhile, we might all need lobotomies.

At 70 years of age, are we safe to say it's not really "rigid" tapping? More like a floating process at this point...

:leaving:

LOL! Don't buy into planning EVERYTHING "well ahead of time", "young" Wes.

Doesn't just threaten your enjoyment of TODAY. It can become a "self fulfilling prophecy"!

Takes me all of two year-plus years[1] to do what I used to do all night.

But it is just as much appreciated!

:)

[1]Wife of 27+ years I haven't seen since 10 December 2015 is due IAD on Monday, 5 March, 2018. Her 88 yrs young Mum will just giggle and shoo us off to the bedroom. As usual.

"Sexual harassment" to a Cantonese female is shorting them their rightful rations!

They don't seem to hold a patent on that, either!
:D

...I can't even imagine what'd happen to a company that went along with that in Seattle...From the background the picture looks like at work, but the other posting says the party was at your "house". You're probably okay with this at home.

Yeah, the party was at home. I didn't wear the shirt to work until after it had been washed per my supervisor's rules. Once I wore a dark blue Dickies work shirt that has an embroidered "Male Escort Service" logo above one pocket and the label "Dick" above the other. In Seattle you probably couldn't wear that on the street, never mind at work. I'll post a pic of me wearing that one at work if I can lose ten more pounds.
