John,
You have one sick and twisted mind, and a very distorted view of the world. That's exactly why I don't want people like you making policy for everyone else. That's exactly why we need separation of church and state.

John,
I hate your America.......... not mine. You are like the American version of the Taliban. I've got more brains than that.
As far as facts........... NOBODY believes that the economy wasn't in the tank BEFORE O'bama, but you. All of the facts say that not only the U.S., but the entire globe went into a recession around 2008........and it was the worse recession we've ever seen since the Great Depression. Those are facts.
I personally doubt that ANY president could have turned the economy around within 4 years. I believe 100% that had McCain been president, rather than O'bama, our economy would be so bad right now, that we probably could not ever recover. As it is, we are recovering slowly. That is a fact. Why would it be worse under McCain ??? Because the Republicans wouldn't have done ANYTHING to stimulate the economy. They certainly wouldn't have saved the auto industry..... which was worth saving. If that would have fell, all manufacturing in the USA would have followed along shortly thereafter, destroying what was left of our economy and quite honestly, creating a crisis to national security. Most Republicans were good with that. Not me.
Ask any shop owner on this board if they honestly believe the economy is as bad as it was in 2008. How many folks here have bought new machines to keep up with the orders ??? How many here have been so busy they couldn't keep up ???

[QUOTE=AHC;1827496]Part of the problem is that we as employees expect that every year we're entitled to make more money than last year. But reality is that as costs go up, well, costs go up. Your raise has nothing to do with what services and goods cost. Raises should be performance based.
QUOTE]
Not from where I see it. The larger organizations seem to feel that the longer you work there the less likely you are to be let go. I have a new job where the boss while discussing wages, told me he wouldn't pay be the same as the other guy because he had been there five years. He is far less qualified and has a bad attitude. This is the second place that told me that and I know of others that use that same policy. While at the top there has been a steady increase and everyone else has seen very little. Working harder than the next guy gets you where?

Actually, Obamacare DOES offer the option of "financial responsibility".
There is a yearly $750 "fee" to self insure. If you dont buy health insurance, you have to pay that $750 on your 1040 tax form, where it is called a penalty. Theoretically, it goes into the kitty to help pay for people who cant afford insurance. Since its on your federal taxes, you could conceivably lose money being self employed, and not have to pay the $750- For instance, buy a VMC, deduct it, and you will not have to pay the $750, in most cases.
And $750 is less than I pay for ONE month for my regular health insurance for my family- theoretically, if you are healthy or willing to take a risk, you would be 9 grand ahead at the end of the year by choosing to self insure and pay the seven fifty.

AlDrake,
That's not exactly true everywhere. In many places, the longer you work there, the more you become a target because companies feel you're earning too many accrued benefits and wages. The last place I worked, the longer you worked there, the more you had to watch your back....... because management was always trying to find ways of getting rid of you.

Your employer may continue to pay your insur prems. that is untill he discovers that they have just gon up to much for him to keep paying... at that point he will require you to pay... and you will for awhile... (your just got a pay cut)
When the prems increase to the point of I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE... he'll stop paying... and pay the govmt imposed FINE for not paying... why? because it's cheaper for him to pay the fine than to buy the insur for you... and then your on your own...
The intire dem program is about BIGGER Govment and GOVMENT CONTROL of YOU and me... Once this Obama care is in force. THE GOVMENT will take MORE of your paycheck than you can imagine and you will be reduced to a serf......
BOHICA.........
Dont know what that means?....... BendOverHereItComesAgain
You still didn't say anything. How do you come to these conclusions. All you have are the repeated talking points of the right. Paying insurance for workers is a cost of operating a company like wages and taxes. If you can't afford it then you shouldn't be in business. Do you actually think that by privatizing everything you will be better off? How much SS would someone get if some private company got to take their cut? Oh, wait, you righties would be taking that money along with unemployment insurance and completely dismantle the workforce turning them into the surfs you are refering to.

Frank, that's pretty smart with the link to your website under your name but is it "legal"? I've sometimes myself put a link to one (or more) of the pages to my own website but always as an answer to a question or remark. Even then some still complain
Why too the jump of several lines beween your name and the link? it shortens the number of posts on each page.

The insurance companies are anticipating having to take a bunch of people with pre existing conditions, and were told that "past XX date we will have to approve increases like we do the power industry".
The only way to fix healthcare I see is to cut all the bloodsucking parasites out of the loop and start paying the doc out of pocket each visit, but EVERYONE( ok, maybe at least 60%) has to do it. Quit buying health insurance and start paying the folks doing the work. Quit your complaining and do whats in your power to do.
The two largest insurance companies in Massachusetts have siad they will now keep the pre-existing condition part and the part where the older children still living at home get coverage. It seems all it takes is a little noise to let the people know what is going on. The insurance companies don't need to keep increasing premiums.

Gordon,
You are the first to mention it. There may be rules to linking to your company website on PM, but if there is one, I haven't seen it, and I've seen others link to their websites. I get quite a bit of traffic at my website through PM. If a moderator says it's not allowed, it will disappear. I don't think anyone can accuse me of spamming......since I probably spend more time contributing to the forum than I should. As far as the jumped lines..... I just space it to where it looks good to me. I hate jumbling all of the lines together.

We are not talking fuel here. At least with fuel you can mass transit, better fuel economy car, carpool, walk, water/rail ship, etc. Might be tough and might cause a lot of heartache. But healthcare! Dont want to pay, then die.
You are totally wrong about transportation. What percentage of all workers do you think have the option to make choices about travel to and from work? There two guys where I work that carpool. The rest, including myself, don't have any choice but to drive 80 miles a day. No trains or busses go anywhere near any of the commercial developments. Things don't work that way.

Like is said, liberals make up their own facts. Like global warming. Hey we got record snow fall last year, the earth must be warming ! Lol, what a joke.
God gave us the earth to use. Says so in the Bible. He put fish in the sea for us to eat. Why else would they be there? Bible doesn't say a damn thing about not using oil.

We only spend 750 billion on Medicare and Medicaid, and health related expenses only account for 18 percent of GDP.
We should spend as much as it takes for every man, woman and child to have cradle to grave healthcare. It's not like we don't have the money. Oh, wait...
Let me inform you here because there was NO nation state that attacked America. The ones that were responsible were allowed to flee and were told the leader of America was no longer concerned about their whereabouts, in his own words. Now McCain wants to send troops to Syria sometime before or after he bombs Iran. This is where we are headed if the right gets control again.

I don't know the size of that place but the two I mentioned are international and have large pockets. The only times I got exceptional wage increases were from the small job shops that could see who was doing all the work. The larger ones don't seem to care.

The only thing wrong with your bible is it conflicts with facts. What were the fish for before man walk the earth? The trouble with you bible thumpers is you seem to think you have some right to dictate to everyone else your morals.

They're not my morals, they're God's. If you have a problem with them, you might want to take it up with him.
Liberals don't have morals. Just do whatever feels good , huh? Just come on the Internet and attack me! Who cares, God isnt watching!
When Jesus comes back, I'll be going with him. You libs will get to go to hell. Your choice. You just have to let Jesus into your heart.
