OT somewhat Antique Iron in London

I will be going to London in a few weeks and would like to know if there are any good places to visit.

Large engines? WWII sites?

Loads of things to see.

The emphasis was on engineering stuff, but for WW2 things visit the Imperial War Museum and National Maritime Museum.

Kew bridge steam museum (BIG cornish beam engines and more)
Science Museum, south Kensington (some whitworth , nasmyth etc stuff)

If you're into books: British Library at Euston

If you can get a bit outside London, try the aircraft Museum at Duxford
Also Shuttleworth collection at Biggleswade (WW1 & II aircraft in flying condition)

I can heartily recommend this, but be warned that the big 90 inch beam engine is only steamed on certain days, so its worth checking before you go.

Blythe House.... if you can get in..... it is the warehouse for the Science museum, British Museum and V & A...... and has more cool stuff than you can imagine..... that is where they store all the old machines you don't see in the museum anymore.....
