I've got one of these LeBlond tool grinders. The wheel spindle has a female taper rather than the much more common male taper. So conventional grinding wheel collets don't work. Actually I've never found a wheel collet with a male taper. How are you guys mounting the grinding wheels on this machine?

I have a LeBlond #2 as well. The wheels mount on tapered arbors; allegedly this eliminates some amount of truing the wheels, according to the literature. The machines were supplied with two different styles, short and longer, to mount wheels for tool work or to do surface grinding.

I actually don't have the machine yet, nor seen actual pictures, but as described to me I think it's the relatively newer design.

In the old grinding book you can see the wheel head but it does not give the taper.page 158
I used that machine but never had the mount off. Think it had a 1/2 or 5/8 wheel arbor so limited out use of the machine because we had our greatest assortment in 1 1/4 mount wheels.
