Hi,

In the middle of a disassembly of an older single tumbler machine.

I'm having trouble removing the gears from the primary banjo / gear bracket.

I have tried some heat and some careful tapping to no avail (the nuts holding the gear on the shafts came off fine, but the two shafts themselves are in there tight!)

Thanks!
Phil

while my memory is fuzzy, but I hate to see a question go unanswered....

now it might be just me but I am still a bit confused by the question.

On the single tumbler banjo there are no nuts holding the gears on directly.
There are 2 studs held onto the banjo by nuts on the back...the studs are more or less shoulder bolts, and the only way to remove the gears is to remove the studs, and you do that by removing the nuts and pressing or driving the studs out.

I seem to remember I removed mine with a whack from a plastic faced hammer.

hopefully someone else will chime in.

Hi,
Thanks, you are correct I think, there are studs which have nuts holding them into the banjo.

If just whacking is what's needed I can apply more force.

Thanks
Phil

Give it a little more time and I'm sure someone else will reply.

as stated my memory is fuzzy and I would feel terrible if I was wrong.
