Howdy everyone,
I am looking for the manual for a 1945 south bend model 9b that would be awesome! I am also looking to put a vfd on it. I would like a nice one and am wondering on brands to check out and if anyone has any information I need to know that would be appreciated as well. This is my first personally owned lathe and am really excited to get going!
Thanks, Matt

First of all check out "The SBL Workshop". Most of the information you need is there. the only manuals you will find is "how to run a lathe", And the parts manual.

As far as the VFD goes, I use a Teco EV drive, and a 3/4 Hp motor. it works very well.

stay safe and have fun.

Joe.

Amen to getting the correct manual for Allen Bradley units. I like my Allen Bradley VFD but it took me a couple of weeks to get the silly thing to work because the manual that came with it was out of date and wrong in a couple of critical areas.
