I'm finally getting my Heavy 10 gone through. As I'm cleaning the bed - with it upside down - I noticed that it has a set of middle 'feet' that could rest on an intermediate support. This is a cabinet mount and no provision for support in the middle of the bed.
But I'm curious - has anyone ever seen an intermediate support setup on a Heavy 10 with a 4 1/2 foot bed? I know I never have, but then I'm no world expert either.
As a point of reference, lathe was delivered in January 1945.
