6K collets

I have a 9" SB workshop lathe and recently came across some new/old stock Hardinge 6K collets at a swap meet. I know these were originally made for the 10K lathe, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make an adapter to use them in the 9" spindle. Has anyone here tried this?

The 9" spindle bore is too small. Sell the 6k's and make a screw on ER32 adapter, or swap in a 10K spindle.

Or buy a 10K to go along with my 9"

I put a 10k spindle in my 9A... If you want to get rid of the collets, I'll take them off your hands.
