Tapered pin, make sure and strike it from the smaller side. Use a pin punch, sometimes a bit of heat on the handle will help. If not center punch it, and drill it out. Then try and drive it out again, usually works.................Rick

You must backup the piece with something very solid. I have an aluminum v block that i put on the concrete floor.
You must hit the small end of the pin.
You must hit it HARD the first strike.
You must use a short drift for the first hit.

The method that has worked very well for me is to use aluminum punches for removing tapered & straight pins. I've explained the method in couple of other threads. Please read through it and it will save you much grief. Links are below:
