M38.1x3.175

Just kidding. M39x2 is the closest I can find in my MH, but you can design any thread you want, so how about M38x3? That would be close to 1-1/2"x8 TPI.

I don't understand why this question is asked? The math could be worked out easy enough but why not do that yourself instead of testing the forum members?

Well, if you had a metric lathe and you wanted to cut a thread close to 8tpi then 3.25mm would be the closest.

But I don't understand the question either??? What are you doing?
