Apron shoe clamp orientation

Well, this is embarrassing. I've been documenting everything with my camera as I break down and reassemble my 9A.

Q/C went without a hitch.

Now, I'm doing the apron. When I removed it from the saddle, out dropped the shoe clamp, that was attached to the saddle locking bolt up above. I'm still in the process of dismembering the apron but eventually I need to reattach everything. So far, Steve's book has been indespensible but on page 35, the shoe he shows is different than the one I have (see photo).

My best guess is that when I reattach the apron to the saddle, the shoe should go like this (2 photos).

Your take?

Thanks

Dave

i can`t say for 100% sure but i thnk the clamp you have is from a model 415, when they moved the clamp from the back to the front of the saddle.

is your lathe a conversion to model A?
i`m just curious, never seen that type clamp on a model A before.
