Bellzona Products to replace babbitt bearings?

I have been wondering if anyone has used Bellzona to repair worn babbitt, or cast iron wearing parts on the Southbend lathe?

Specifically I am looking at #1131 the bearing "metal" filler.

I'm not running out to the garage to try it this minute, I am just thinking about trying it and wondering if anyone has already.

To my knowledge, South Bend never used babbitt for head stock bearings. They only used it in the hinges for the gear covers and possibly on taper attachments.

I would agree with that. Also the Lead Screw bracket on my 9a.

The main pivot for the underslung motor/cone pulley assembly is babbit as well
