Default Can I get a definitive answer about my 10K ?

Everywhere I look I`m seeing different answers about what spindle collets a 10K takes..I`v seen everything from 3c to 5c to 6k ! Is there a reason I`m seeing so many different answers ? I`m new to all this and there`s A LOT I don`t understand yet so I would really like to get a straight answer..Thanks, AJ

Unless someone has altered the machine somehow, the 10K uses the 6K collets. It's a 'mid-size' that SB came up with to fit that lathe. It only fits that lathe! The 7/8" spindle bore is not big enough for 5Cs.

The correct answer is 6K. And they are very scarce!

With an adapter, they will also take 3C, which are more common that 6K.

Not just a collet sleeve, a different draw tube too.
