BTW, if you make the bench from these plans you might want to make it taller, I think the guys back in the day were sitting on stools or very short.
I had to add a 3 inch foot to the bottom of the legs.

SB bench
Send me an email to [email protected] and I will send you a cad file with the bench drawings. These are the SB bench design that SB sold a kit or a set of drawings back in the 20's and 30's. SB used this bench up till the end of WW II when metal became available again and they switched to a metal framed bench. Here is a picture of the bench I just completed using these drawings. Like Bob said you will need to add three inches to the length of the legs as it seams we Americans were much shorter in the old days. The drawer you see is in fact a new old stock drawer kit I got from SB Rose about four years ago.
