Default center won't fit in headstock

Hi, MT2 won't fit in 9A spindle (trying to put a dead center there to turn center to center). Someone told me I need special collar.

Does anyone have a direct link to where these can be had for a reasonable price. I also need some blank HSS to create bits, as I've never turned anything before.

I would PREFER, if I could get the collar from the same company I get the HSS blanks so as to save shipping charges, which add up in a hurry!

Bonus Q: I have a live and dead center; which should go in TS and which in HS

    Thanks

    DaveV

sorry, someone posted the same question while I was posting. What are the odds of that happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally found their site and wow, $55. I might try to make my own as that is way beyond my budget. 3MT for outside and 2MT inside, per website; seems simple enough, maybe 10 minutes to do

    MT3 to MT2 adapter $15.

Tools4cheap LLC Online Machine Shop Tooling Store: Head Stock Taper adapter MT3 to MT2,Lathe Collet Closers and Taper Adapters

Using an MT2 center will give you another inch or so of usable length.

Get an MT2 and MT3 center so you have choices.

You need tooling. Open your wallet!

use the live center in the tail stock and the dead center in the head stock...you will see why when you run the lathe.

The SB spindle hole is close to being a 3MT. It has the correct angle but it is to short. This will cause a 3MT to stick out to far.

You need the adaptor from SB. Watch ebay I have bought them there.
