Continuing Education
I recently acquired a Southbend 10K that I restored to pretty good working condition and I would like to become more proficent with this piece of equipment.
Can anyone receommend an evening school or class availvalble in the Akron, Ohio area or any other suggestions for learning how to become proficent with this machine?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

There are some videos on the web if you decide you don't want to pay or travel for instruction. I know you can rent some videos, but there are also free ones on youtube and elsewhere. Check these out:

Overhaulin;
My advice is to take the kind offer from Metalmaster. You cannot learn what he can instruct you from a video.

Also, look on eBay and pick up a copy of "How To Run A Lathe". Valuable little piece of literature and often can be had for around $10 bucks.

Darrell Holland has a great course for the lathe.
You can rent it here since it costs about $500.

Thank you all!
As you can tell I am new at this but you guys are awesome, and thanks for all your input and advice!!!

Also check what's available at your local Community College. They probably won't have the 10K, but the machining principles will still apply.

Cool, that will keep me from missing Tator Salad too much. I've grown accustomed to having a nice warm puppy belly to warm up with!
