I have a SB9C and was wondering if it was possible to do this conversion? I searched this forum but came up empty, unless I didn't ask for the right thing. Thanks!

Yes, I belive it's entirely possible. You will
need to find an 'A' type apron, cross slide
screw, feed screw and quick change gearbox.

Hi There,

Yes, you can convert a model C to an A. Most model C's only have two of the three mounting screw holes in the bed needed for the QC gearbox. If you have a milling machine (or a friend with one), drilling and counterboring the third hole will be no problem. Some model C's used a model A bed so you may already have the third hole in the bed but most do not. Other than this modification, it is just a parts swap.

Good Luck!
