My 10L is S/N 18269RKX and Model No. CL187R. Can someone tell me when it was made? And what does the X signify, beyond "Special".

CL187R.....

"CL" = Thread Nose headstock
"187" = Catalog number
"R" = 4-1/2' bed length

S/N 18269RKX......

"18269" = 18,269th 10" lathe built
"R" = 10" swing
"K" = Supplied with quick change gears, friction feed apron and underneath motor drive.
"X" = "Special order" spindle & swing type.

You can email Marty Schubert at Leblond [ [email protected] ], giving him the serial number & catalog number (what you refered to as "model number") and he can tell you what date your lathe shipped and to whom it shipped.

Hope this helps,
-Bob
