Dimensions of Tension Spring for 10L

On mine, here are the dimensions:

Wire diameter: 0.160 inch

Number of coils: 27

Outer diameter of spring: 1.020 inch

Length of hook at each end: 1.5 inch

Extended length of coils, with
belt tensioned: 6.0 inch

Length of coils with belt slack, but
not spring not entirely compressed: 4.5 inch

The coil lengths are for on the *coiled*
portion of the spring, not counting the
two 1.5 inch end hooks. If you counted
those as well, the two length numbers above
would each be 3 inches more.

Hope that helps - Jim

Thanks Jim, that is what I needed to know. I might as well own up to what happened to the one with my lathe.

I blasted the spring along with some other parts. There was still a little grit in the spring so I dropped in my ultrasonic cleaner to get the last of the grime off. I took the spring out to dry and there was some moisture in it after it cooled. To finish the drying I took it outside in the one hundred degree heat and put it on the bumper of my truck. You know the rest.

Good Luck

Well, at least it wasn't your favorite
coffee cup!

The only worse thing would be if you ran it
over and gave yourself a flat!!

Jim

It got worse than my best coffee cup or a flat. A tornado (that the National Weather Service said did not happen) demolished two center pivot irrigation systems Friday night. We got our work cut out for us. The good part, no one was hurt.
