14" South Bend. 7'bed. Serial No147392 Also D.W.W and J.A.N....I speculate that these are erector/inspector stamps,or the like. The most curious is a small circle about 1/4"dia embracing cross canon. Maybe date and where it was sent new might throw some light on this?

It wouldn’t be a 14”, either a 14 1/2” or a 16”
The 14” (FOURTEEN) Wasn’t produced until the late 60’s

The Crossed Canon Cartouche is the US Ordnance Final Acceptance Mark to denote quality control acceptance..This mark can be found US military firearms.

14 1/2" looks right, def not a 16"! It would seem, then, that it shipped to some US ordnance factory, then shipped here at a later date. Mayhap the shipping details do not exist any more, like they do for Hendey machines?

SB owners Grizzley (sp?) sells the history card related to that serial if you want to bother - it may or may not have interesting info
