    Default Green Chinese Drum Switch

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about those green drum switches you see on Ebay. The price was very attractive for an equipment project of mine. I was going to use it on a 1-1/2 HP 110 volt motor so I bought one at the rated volts and amps. While the guts of the switch may have been rated at that voltage, the box in which it was mounted had virtually no room for the wiring. It is shipped with two flimsy rubber grommets in 1/2" holes that do not allow the use of any kind of normal electrical connections let alone conduit. So unless you are wiring a 1/100 HP motor with phone wire don't bother, spend the money on a real one

It's not the disappointment - it's that you only feel satisfied for half an hour.
Or the uncomfortable guilty feeling after the all-you-can-consume buffet.
