How to install gits.

Hello all, rebuilding my 10K. Its going ok, but how in the heck does a guy install new gits? Tried lightly taping on a new one with a small brass hammer. Poped the lid right off the small body. Going to have to buy some moe and they are not cheap.

Suggestions?

The press in type, open lid and find a punch that fits in upper half, but wont pass through the lower, tap it in.

Theres a whole bunch of types and sizes ive found these days, not made by the original people. Sometimes the right size is an issue. You can get threaded ones as well, like pipe tap, if you want to go that route as well.
