How to reattach quick change gear box data plate?

I removed my SB 9A's quick change gear box data plate (the one with all the feeds and such for threading on it) by grinding a slot in the fasteners holding it in, so that I could fully clean the gearbox. These fasteners appear to be more like nails than screws. Has anyone ever tried replacing these with something else? Like a little machine screw or something? Thanks

I have a late model quick change on older 9a and there appears to be small pop rivets holding the plate on the housing. I'm not sure if they have through holes or not. You could also make or buy small brass rivets, burrs but would need a through hole as well. It depends how fancy you want to get.
