Threading dials are very easy to make - nothing complicated at all! Attached is a plan for one I made and you can use it to get an idea of what is needed. I'll even show you how to make the "markings" if need be. I don't visit this forum very often so send me an email or PM if you need more information.
I made mine with curves but there is no need for that - simple will work just fine!

That is one impressive threading dial!
Where did you get the "pre-manufactured gear" ? I suspect this is the hardest item to make or find.
