Among the tools that came with my lathe was this arbor and some slitting saws.
It's not threaded for a drawbar or is there a plug hiding the threads?
There is a ring towards the end but I haven't put any real force on it yet.

Don't think I'd dare use it without a draw bar.

I it a taper or straight shank? if straight then it probably fits into a collet if taper it probably fits into the spindle that way. I would go with a collet though. on the box it probably shows the operator using the tailstock as an arbor support though to make it more rigid

Since I just happen to have three catalogs open in other windows..... The tool shows in catalogs from '42, '48, and '52, as an arbor for milling cutters with a 1" hole; includes 3 spacer collars, and shank is a No. 3 Morse taper, to fit the taper of the spindle. It only shows under the part no. on box, 109-NH in the '48 catalog, in the others it shows a different part number containing 109. Oddly, in 1942 they show a different part number for the same tool based upon lathe size, for 9, 10, 13, 14.5, and 16 inch lathes, but all with the same description and all with a 3 MT shank. There is never a mention of threads, drawbar or collets.
