I bought this lathe about 5 years ago. I had my doubt about it being much help around the shop. It has helped me out with a few parts. Made a friction clutch shaft for my Marvel tilt head band saw.
The previous owner put a 1/2 hp single phase. When it's cold it doesn't want to start things turning in the higher belt combinations. I haven't checked the motor out. It gets by for now. When I get the 16 running I may address the problem.
The 9 won't get a variable but the 16 may.
I need to improve picture quality! I have a mess with machines packed away. I'm digging through it.
Also a blurry picture covel surface grinder.
This is another project not S.B. Related. Cincinnati. 21" swing 10' between centers
It's gearbox is great condition but the lath caught some weather. I have everything freed up. No pitting
I'm going to build both feed screws for it on my south Bend 16" when it's running. Soon
