Need help ID'ing thread dial

I acquired this threading dial along with some South Bend lathe parts. I'm trying to determine if it's for a South Bend lathe. It's too big for a 9" and I can't find any numbers on it. Any ideas?

The Clausing Atlas lathes used one that looked like this also and they had a 12" model it could possibly be for one of them.

It does look similar to some of the Clausing dials. The thing that is throwing me is that there aren't any numbers stamped on the dial. It almost looks shop-made.

Not sure on the tooth count. I will check it tonight. What will that tell me?

It could help narrow it down some- gear will be a multiple of leadscrew pitch

After stripping off the multiple layers of paint, I found a number stamped into the body of the threading dial. It's either 801 or 301. Not sure if that's a part number or just a foundry marking.
