I have a new to me South Bend Fourteen that needs a new input shaft to the quick change gearbox. I believe the part number is AS603T3 (page 42, http://www.wswells.com/data/parts/parts_7014/1980-bulletin-7014-A.pdf).
Worst case I can likely get one made locally. What would be an appropriate material choice to get the new shaft made out of?
