What do the numbers cast into the bed near the headstock mean? My lathe has a pair of letters, "GF" and then above them a string of numbers and letters, namely "6861W4R1". That's clearly not the serial number, so what could it be? And, of course, the obvious followup question is what oes it tell me about my lathe?
