parts available for 9" SB?

Can you still get parts for the SB "A" like the lead screws, bearings and such?

Yes, Most replacement parts are available (except for very early machines; 1937 and back). South Bend Lathe was liquidated and Leblond Lathe bought up the business including the parts. They still use the SBL logo and the web page is at:

The bad news is their parts are "pricey." The good news is there are other sources for parts. There are many dealers in used machinery that can supply good used parts for fair prices (but you have to do some checking around). Also there are some other sources for some new parts (the more commonly required ones). Check out:
