Hey guys, I am in the process of putting new felts in my headstock and was wondering if there is a resource that shows you how to do this. I am the one who's lathe had grease zerks on it and I took it all apart to pressure wash it clean and now am putting it back together. The only felts it had on it were the capillary wicks that have the springs on them. Looking at the rebuild kit I got, it looks like it should have more felts than that. I thought I ordered the rebuild book with it but unfortunately I just ordered the kit no book to go with it. Anybody do this before? Thanks.

I have a heavy 10, I don't think the basic design is any different on a 16. The cone pulley and backgear shaft are lubricated with synthetic lube ( book recommends super lube), besides the main bearing spring loaded wicks there isn't anything else on the headstock. Buy the book it's going to tell you the order the gear box and apron has to come apart and weather the pins are taper or straight.
