SB-6 Toolpost - who made this?

This QCTP toolpost came with my lathe. I can't find anything that references an SB-6 toolpost.

Anybody know anything about who might have made this? It seems to be a pretty nice and tight unit.

6 was the Armstrong designation for an AXA size post IIRC

SB sourced a lot from Armstrong so I have to wonder if it was made by Armstrong for SB???

It's a BXA size that came on a 13" machine. The wedges in this SB-6 are much smoother and tighter than the Bostar BXA QCTP I picked up for cheap on ebay. I got that because it included 7 tool holders.

LOL. I gave the Bostar toolpost a try after using the SB-6 unit. Tomorrow I'll return the Bostar toolpost. It unscrewed itself the first time I loosened the nut to reposition it on the compound.

It's good to try the cheap stuff so you can appreciate the extra money for good stuff.
