Very nice machine, but certainly at a premium.
It is a nice looking lathe, And according to the listing he has done a lot of work on it. But I do not know his skill level, and I am skeptical that the lathe could be in the condition that he claimed. He may be an expert in the restoration field. There's only a few on this board that I would trust with that kind of Restoration claims.
Also I did not see a steady rest are follow rest included in that description, nor did I see a taper attachment. If these items were included I might consider it to be a fair price. But you never know, I don't live in that area, And I do not know how hard it is to get a lathe there. But I still think it is too high.

$5,000 gets you a pair of decently tooled SB 13" lathes.

I seen it the other day. It looks great my question is why would you do all that work to that machine. Weather its a south bend or any other brand if you are going to go over the top at least have a 1.375 spindle bore and a cabinet model to start with. In this area $3500 is top dollar and then you have to find the "right guy"
