Sjgbern Collet Chuck

Good evening folks - I just put a Sjogbern 5C collet chuck with an L00 back plate back together. Never having had or seen one of these I was expecting that with the name "speed" chuck that when it was mounted that I could simply spin the molded handle and it would revolve on its own. That is not happening - it does turn easily with two fingers but doesn't free wheel. I'm OK with how it operates but am concerned that I didn't get it back together correctly. Maybe I am misunderstanding the name "speed" chuck?

Sjogren. Turning the hand wheel works a gear train that operates the nut that the collet screws into. One way tightens, other way loosens

I assume you mean Sjogren, not Sjogbern. I've got several Sjogren speed chucks with D1-6 mount and none of them freewheel. If the wheel turns with a couple of fingers, that's fine.
